In the third stage of the Boels Ladies Tour (with start and finish in Nijverdal) CCC-Liv tried to make it difficult for the competition during the final. Just when Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio had put all her energy into catching two escapees, four riders took off, making the decisive move in the stage. Lisa Klein was the strongest of the group and also took over the leader's jersey. Marta Lach, Valerie Demey, Jeanne Korevaar and Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio crossed the line in a selective group.
Sports director Jeroen Blijlevens: “We had the hard stage that we wanted. On the local lap, in the run-up to the Motieweg, the peloton was pulled apart in the third and fourth lap. In the latter, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio was the only one present which was a bit thin. However, our riders had put up a struggle to reconnect from the back. We worked hard as a team in the final. When two escapees were reeled in, the pace decreased and the decision was made. It's a pity we weren't among them. Two stages remain in which many things can change. The differences in the rankings are not big.”
