No suprise in GP de Plouay

Marta Lach (seventh) achieved a place in the top ten in the GP de Plouay on Tuesday. The brand new Polish road champion sprinted with the peloton for third place, after Elizabeth Deignan and Elizabeth Banks had already crossed the finish line.

Pauliena Rooijakkers put a brutal acceleration on a hilly section in the second short lap. By doing so, she brought various competitors into trouble, but unfortunately did not separate herself from the stronger riders. Elizabeth Banks managed to do so a little later with Elizabeth Deignan and Jip van den Bos joining soon after. The two Britons were the only ones staying ahead.

A counter-attack was launched which turned out to be unsuccessful. The peloton caught the eleven pursuers in the last ten kilometers. Deignan was a fraction faster than Banks in the slightly ascending sprint-à-deux. Marta Lach was the first CCC-Liv rider to cross the line. Valerie Demey finished in 21st place.
