CCC-Liv will appear at the start of the Giro dell'Emilia (Tuesday, 18 August) with the two ‘home riders’ Sofia Bertizzolo and Soraya Paladin. In addition to the two Italians, sports director Jeroen Blijlevens has included the following riders in his selection: Marta Lach, Riejanne Markus, Pauliena Rooijakkers and Sabrina Stultiens.
“The Giro dell’Emilia is a relatively short, flat race with a challenging final including the hill of San Luca, a regular part of the Giro dell'Emilia and in 2019 the arrival of the opening time trial in the Giro d'Italia”, says sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. “We will try to be well positioned if there is a breakaway early in the race. In addition, we want to drop off Soraya Paladin, Sabrina Stultiens and Pauliena Rooijakkers as well as possible for the climb to San Luca. This finish should suit them well.”
“The Giro dell’Emilia will be the first race for Marta Lach and Riejanne Markus since the restart of the competition. I am curious to see how they are doing. I also look forward to what Sabrina Stultiens can do. She rode a perfect Strade Bianche and showed that she had taken another step forward.”
