Following the national championships in Poland, Israel and the Netherlands, one last WM3-rider started in a national road race on Sunday. Valentina Scandolara completed an amazing race in Piemonte (Italy), but had in the end to be satisfied with a 12th spot.
“It all went well. I was at the front on the first long climb of the day. We were ahead with 13 riders”, says Valentina. “We were unfortunately caught at the bottom of the final climb. I tried to keep the pace as high as possible and finished 12th which could have been closer with a bit more luck. After all, the group sprinting for the podium places was not very far off.”
Giro Rosa
Valentina stays in her country after the Italian road championship. She is one of the WM3-riders who will start at the Giro Rosa later in the week.
