A care-free day for WM3 Pro Cycling

WM3 Pro Cycling took a major step towards potential final victory in the Gracia Orlová. The overall leader, Riejanne Markus, increased her lead in the Czechian stage race by winning the time trial on Saturday morning. Her ranking was not jeopardised in the afternoon road stage when Martina Ritter attacked on the final climb. DS Jeroen Blijlevens: “We have every reason to be very satisfied.”

The time trial on Saturday morning was outstanding for WM3 Pro Cycling. Riejanne Markus won the TT over a distance of 13.5 kilometres with Moniek Tenniglo being 2nd (at 8 seconds). Moniek further ensured the podium in the overall ranking. Anouska Koster also completed a notable race, finishing 5th (at 15 seconds).

The 2nd part of the day consisted of a 68 kilometre race with a tough final climb of one kilometre. Four riders broke away for a long stint, but got caught in the final. “We tried to keep controlling the race and were able to close the gap”, says DS Jeroen Blijlevens.

The Austrian Martina Ritter attacked on the final climb and crossed the finish line as the winner. The top of the overall ranking stays pretty much the same which means that WM3 Pro Cycling are still occupying 3 places.  Jeroen Blijlevens: “We have had a rather care-free afternoon.”  Sunday awaits the final stage, consisting of 8 laps of 12.7 kilometres each.
