The Walloon triptych is finalised on Sunday with Liège-Bastogne-Liège. WaowDeals Pro Cycling takes a strong selection to the start of this WorldTour-race. Sabrina Stultiens, Pauliena Rooijakkers, Dani Rowe, Marianne Vos, Jeanne Korevaar and Riejanne Markus defend the WaowDeals colours.
Liège-Bastogne-Liège for women has its 2nd edition this year. The riders are presented with 4 challenging climbs on the 135-long-kilometres road to the finish in Ans. They will consecutively climb the Côte de la Vecquée, La Redoute, La Roche aux Faucons and the Saint-Nicolas.
Morale
Sports director Jeroen Blijlevens: “Liège-Bastogne-Liège is a tough assignment, however the form and the morale of the team are good. Riejanne just about missed the podium in the Amstel Gold Race, Sabrina was very strong on the Mur de Huy, Jeanne has been at a high level for some time now and I am also very pleased with Pauliena’s progress.”
As opposed to the Flèche Wallonne, Marianne Vos and Dani Rowe join the selection for Liège-Bastogne-Liège. “Dani’s bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games surely gave her a boost of confidence. She only just got back from Australia. Hopefully, she can be immediately of value for the team.”
