WaowDeals Pro Cycling had a solid start in the Healthy Ageing Tour. Riejanne Markus and Anouska Koster took 12th and 13th place in the 8-kilometre-long prologue. They gave away 31 and 33 seconds to the winner Anna van der Breggen. Also Jeanne Korevaar (+49 seconds) and Pauliena Rooijakkers (+52 seconds) finished within the top 30.

“We don’t have top time trialists in our ranks, but we nevertheless finished very decently. We performed in line with our ability”, says sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. At the beginning of the season, his riders’ ideal position on a Ridley time trial bike was fine-tuned at the Cycle Performance Center in Eindhoven.

Colour
On Thursday, the riders await the first stage in line (131 kilometres). “This stage is basically flat. Later in the week, we also have the team time trial. It is anticipated that we will not play a major role in the general classification, but, of course, we do not want to race colourless. We can most likely show us in other ways”, says Jeroen Blijlevens.
