The day after the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, there is the Omloop van het Hageland. WaowDeals Pro Cycling has the following riders at the start: Riejanne Markus, Jeanne Korevaar, Anouska Koster, Pauliena Rooijakkers, Dani Rowe and Monique van de Ree.

The race starts in Tielt-Winge with a neutral opening, followed by a stretch of well-over 50 kilometres, after which the riders race 6 laps of 13.3 kilometres each. This Belgian spring classic has been dominated in the first 9 editions by the sprinters.

Strong as a team
DS Jeroen Blijlevens wants to show that his team has more irons in the fire this season. Monique van de Ree has a more supporting role in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, but on Sunday, she will get more protection in Hageland, according to Jeroen Blijlevens.

“This season, we want to perform strongly as a team and we do not have a fixed head rider. Riders who sacrifice themselves in one race, deserve to get support in another race”, he says. “The Omloop van het Hageland is a race which could be cut out for Monique.”
