The riders from WaowDeals Pro Cycling made it well through the third stage of the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under. Anouska Koster, Riejanne Markus and Jeanne Korevaar finished without difficulties in the big group after the 3 escapees of the day. Amanda Spratt took the victory.
“There was quite some wind which made it tough in the beginning of the race. Echelons were formed and the peloton broke in parts”, says DS Jeroen Blijlevens, who observed how the different parts got back together later on.
In the final, Lauren Stephens, Grace Brown and Amanda Spratt got away, with the latter crossing the line in Hahndorf first after well over 122 kilometres. “Our riders finished in the first big group. A fine result considering the tough final with many up and downhills”, says Jeroen.
The 3 WaowDeals Pro Cycling riders who had to leave the race are doing better. Rotem Gafinovitz is on her way back after treatment, and also Sabrina Stultiens, who became ill, is feeling better. Monique van de Ree needs a bit more time to recover from her crash.
