An unlucky day for WaowDeals Pro Cycling in the second stage of the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under in which Sabrina Stultiens could not defend her leading position in the Queen of the Mountain classification.

“She became ill on the way to the start. We’ve decided that it was better for Sabrina not to start”, says DS Jeroen Blijlevens. “A real pity as today’s stage had an uphill finish which could have been to her advantage.”

Monique van de Ree did not start either. She is still feeling the consequences from her crash in the first stage of the Australian race. Jeroen also saw Rotem Gafinovitz drop the race due to some physical problems.

Jeanne Korevaar finished first of the WaowDeals Pro Cycling riders, slightly more than 2 minutes after the stage winner Katrin Garfoot. The Santos Women’s Tour Down Under has 2 more stages.
