EuroCycling XP: 3 days cycling event

We are looking back at a great weekend at EuroCycling XP in Maastricht. From Friday to Sunday (20, 21, 22 October), our riders, staff and partners were available to cycling fans. A short look back at the first edition of this cycling exposition.

Information sessions
Maxim’s (sports)nutritionists provided with our riders, several information sessions about (sports) nutrition in the teambus. They explained how to get most out of their performance by having the right nutrition and what a recreational cyclist can learn. DS Jeroen Blijlevens provided an insight into the tactics during a race.

Power peak
Tacx and Pioneer had organised various initiatives with the team outside the bus. For instance, the Power Challenge whereby an exposition visitor was challenged to reach as much power in 1.5 minutes. The winner recorded nearly 1.000 watt.  A couple of hundred people participated. Our riders also had a signing session at the Tacx stand.

La Vos
We also had news in relation to cycling wear.  At the main stage, Marianne Vos revealed her own clothing line on Friday: La Vos. The first collection was already available at EuroCycling XP. WaowDeals Pro Cycling, as our team will be called as of 1 January, rides in 2018 in La Vos. The team has organised a competition. Fans get to vote for their favourite shirt design (until Sunday 29 October).

WM3 Experience
On Saturday, around 50 partners (Fristads Kansas, Ridley, GSG, WM3, Pioneer) and fans spent a day with the team during the WM3 Experience, including a bike ride under the guidance of Go4Cycling. The 70-kilometre-ride went into the direction of Café Coureur while the participants of the 90-kilometre-ride visited Leo’s Bike Collection. The rides were followed by a pasta party, prepared by top sports chef Carol De Dobbelaere.

Street name
The cycling events had already started on Friday noon with Anouska Koster who provided a clinic with a couple of other (former) professionals. Marianne Vos rode to Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg where a street name was revealed at the entrance: the Marianne Vos Allée. Marianne earned her name on top of the most famous hill in the Netherlands thanks to her achievements in that area throughout the years.
