Marianne Vos took gold at the European championship in Denmark 2 weeks ago. In the Crescent Vårgårda (Sweden), she finished 2nd after a strong team performance and also in the next several days, our team is racing in northern Europe, namely in the Ladies Tour of Norway, a 4-day-stage race.
The Ladies Tour of Norway, which is part of the WorldTour calendar, starts on Thursday late afternoon with a prologue in the centre of Halden. The first rider starts at 5 PM; the finish of the last rider is expected shortly before 8 PM. The route is well over 3 kilometres and partly includes the harbour of Halden with the finish near to the sea.
The 1st stage on Friday noon goes from Halden to Mysen (101.5 kilometres), followed by a 2nd stage from Sarpsborg to Frederikstad (140.1 kilometres) and a 3rd stage from Svinesund to Halden (156.6 kilometres). All stages include hills and the final stage even has a gravel section of 7.5 kilometres. A fun fact for the spectators: all stages end in a local lap which will be covered 3 times.
WM3 Pro Cycling’s line up is Kasia Niewiadoma, Yara Kastelijn, Moniek Tenniglo, Marianne Vos, Anouska Koster and Jeanne Korevaar.
