Success for WM3 Pro Cycling in the BeNe Ladies Tour. Marianne Vos emphasised with a sprint victory to be the best in the peloton in the final stage in Belgian Zelzate (112 kilometres). She also won the general classification. “A great way to return”, concludes DS Eric van den Boom.
The last of 4 race days had a flat course in store for the riders, covering 9 local laps. “We hardly encountered any difficulties”, says van den Boom. Marianne didn’t waste any time to collect additional bonus points in the rushes. “To play safe”, explains the DS after the race.
Two riders broke away at 40 kilometres from the finish line. They did not pose a threat to Marianne’s first position in the overall ranking. The escapees accumulated a gap of maximum 1 minute and got caught well before the final, followed by a series of other attempts but none of the riders got away.
