CCC-Liv can look back on an excellent Tour de l’Ardèche in France. After four previous stage victories, Marianne hit a homerun in the seventh and final stage (88 kilometres) on Thursday for the fifth time. Our top rider arrived solo, after she had dropped her co-escapee Nikola Noskova in the last 10 kilometres of the stage. Marianne won the final classification, the points jersey and the combination classification. Jeanne Korevaar completed an excellent race. She finished tenth in the final stage to Privas and nineteenth in the overall ranking.
“The last stage started fairly quietly, but halfway through the peloton got into action. Jeanne Korevaar and Marianne Vos were in an excellent position with a remaining group of around twenty riders. On the last climb, La Croix de Creysseilles, Marianne and Nikola Noskova jumped away. After that Marianne stepped up another gear”, says sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. “She is in top shape and has made it very difficult for some recognized climbers here. She had a lot of support from Jeanne Korevaar from CCC-Liv. She has closed gaps every day and has jumped where necessary.”
