CCC-Liv starts the road season in Australia. Our squad will race in the Santos Women's Tour Down Under (10-13 January) and will stay there for a short training camp. The Australian trip ends with the Deakin University Elite Women's Road Race (26 January).
As in 2018, sports director Jeroen Blijlevens deliberately opts for a season opening in Australia. "The Australian riders are in good shape, because that is the time of the national championships. It is a good race incentive for us and it will be difficult to immediately respond to the cyclists who are in such a shape. Everyone on our team who wants to try something, has the opportunity."
With Valerie Demey, Evy Kuijpers, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio and Agnieszka Skalniak, CCC-Liv starts with four newcomers. Riejanne Markus and Jeanne Korevaar complete the selection. "The Santos Women's Tour Down Under is a perfect race to get used to each other and create reflexes for the rest of the season. In the heat of the battle, the riders must be able to find each other. After the Santos Women's Tour Down Under, we know where we stand."
