Saturday CCC-Liv will ride a double race programme. The team will be active both in the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa (the selection was already announced earlier) and the Prudential RideLondon Classique. In England CCC-Liv will start with Valerie Demey, Evy Kuijpers, Marianne Vos, Jeanne Korevaar and Riejanne Markus.
Sports director Jeroen Blijlevens: “We ride twenty rounds of 3.4 kilometres in the centre of London. The road is constantly level and wide, with here and there some bends. The race will most probably end in a sprint. For this we have Marianne Vos as a likely candidate for the victory, but certainly not the top favourite. This is a real power sprint and that is just a little bit less Marianne’s cup of tea. If it does not end in a sprint, then we must be part of the breakaway. With Evy Kuijpers, for instance, we may be able to participate in the intermediate sprints.”
Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa
Agnieszka Skalniak, Pauliena Rooijakkers, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Marta Lach and Inge van der Heijden will ride the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa in Spanish Basque Country on Saturday. Sports director Eric van den Boom: “A beautiful, challenging race with prestige and character. Fantastic that the initiative was taken to add this race to the women’s calendar. In the beginning the Jaizkibel is a challenge and at the end there are again several steep climbs. As a team we want to be well positioned in the race and with Pauliena Rooijakkers and Ashleigh Moolman Pasio we see chances to spice the final.”
