CCC-Liv has to make up time to several competitors in the upcoming stages of the Boels Ladies Tour. In the prologue (3.8 km) at the technical Tom Dumoulin Bike Park in Sittard, team leader Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (average speed: 40.593 km per hour) finished 33 seconds behind winner Annemiek van Vleuten. Riejanne Markus (average speed: 42.484 km per hour) clocked the fastest time of the six CCC-Liv riders. She had to allow 18 seconds.
Sports director Jeroen Blijlevens: “Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio is a great time trial rider, but on this technical course it didn't go quite as we had hoped. It didn't go fast enough to set a top time. Nevertheless, she limited the damage to just over half a minute. There will be other stages with opportunities to regain time from the competition, even though the course is less selective than previous editions of the Ladies Tour. Ashleigh has a strong team around her.”
