Marianne distances herself from the competition in the general classification with a second stage win

Marianne Vos has the leader's jersey in the Ladies Tour of Norway even more firmly on her shoulders. In the third stage of the Norwegian four-day race, she settled a score on Saturday with Coryn Rivera, with whom she had escaped in the local lap. The entire CCC-Liv prepared the second daily win of Marianne to perfection.

“The race developed exactly as we had hoped. We wanted to strike in the first round of the final lap which was covered twice. Marianne would jump there and see who could join. The goal: to take time on the competition, as, until today, more than thirty riders were placed within ten seconds. When Marianne accelerated, only Rivera could follow", says sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. “The team executed the tactics perfectly. All our riders were constantly in the front row to keep Marianne ahead. They kept the pace high on the local lap.”

Marianne is now 19 seconds ahead of the number two in the general classification, Rivera. The number three, Leah Kirchmann, is at 31 seconds. Riejanne Markus is in ninth place in the GC (+ 50 seconds). Sunday is the long final stage of 154 kilometres.
